I was one of the few that didn't immediately hate the deal, but the extent of my ringing endorsement was:

"It's such a small amount of money, if he's worthy of even platooning at 1B then it's worth it."

Anybody getting worked up either for or against this extension is beyond petty.

They really have looked tense all year. None of the stir the pot stuff after hits. No jumping around in the clubhouse. They just seem flat most of the time. I don't know if that was a personal choice to "mature" because they didn't win last year or it came as a result of things like the Bautista/Odor thing where far too many people defended Odor and justified the pitch thrown at Jose but something just seemed off most of the year. It's not an inside analysis of the clubhouse but something has been off at least by observation. Strange for a lockerroom that is essentially the same as last year.

I agree with you that they have looked tense all season, even when they were on hot streaks during some points in the season. Even at the start of the season it looked like everyone was just sitting quietly on the bench, Tulo and JD scowling on one end of the dugout, Jose and EE sitting quietly on the other end. I'm not body language expert but something seems different like you said.
