I'm sure that he could have pitched 2 innings but i'm on board with you about the Cy Young. I don't ever think that someone throwing 70-80 innings in a season should win the Cy.

I'm wondering if warnings are going to be given to both managers before the first pitch is even thrown

Rangers dont scare me at all. If you compare numbers between the teams, the Jays and Rangers are almost identical. We have the better rotation. Offensive numbers are really similar.

Rangers got a better record playing in a worse division and not sucking in september like we did

The numbers aren't identical, the Rangers numbers are actually much worse as they had a terrible +8 run differential on the season. They were basically an 82 win team.

That said, this means nothing. Either team could win a 5 game series. Minnesota could win a 5 game series right now, thats the crapshoot the MLB playoffs really is.

Definitely not scared of these chumps. They're sitting at a run differential of +8 this year whereas we're +96. That's huge. They're not as good as their record indicates.

You're being generous; he didn't even throw 70 innings (67).

I agree. If our starters remain consistent we will be in every game. If the bats wake up then it'll be over in 3 or 4.

I'm anxious to find out who is starting games 1 and 2. It will probably be Sanchez and Happ, but I don't really like the thought of Estrada pitching game 3 on almost 10 days rest.

It's a good problem to have I suppose that people still don't understand why MLB does this because it means we're in the playoffs.

But, guys, please try to understand that no one cares about West Coast Canadians at MLB. They're going to put the games in the best time slots that will get them the most ratings. The Jays do not get better ratings than the Red Sox or any NL team.

Please understand this. Also, make the ALCS and you never have to worry about a day game again.

We scored the same amount of runs. They just gave up nearly 100 more runs than we did.

I do. It gives his back time to fully heal.

They're the luckiest team in MLB history going 36-11 in 1-run games, eclipsing even the 2012 Orioles who previously held the record.

It's always the acumbag teams that have the most luck.

Look like Texas is going with Hamels in game 1 and Darvish in game 2 as per The Score.

I don't think an extra two or three days is going to make that much of a difference and make Estrada's back suddenly heal, but it may get him out of the groove that he was in to finish the season. He has been great his past three starts on regular rest.

Dammit, HangTime was supposed to make this. Dude was money in the playoffs last year and the WC thread.

The one thing that scares me about Texas is Carlos Beltran. He really mashes us for some reason. I was so happy when the Yankees traded him away. Not too worried about Hamels and Lewis. We've handled them in the past. Darvish might give us fits though.

Also a little worried about Estrada. He was awful in August after his turn in the rotation got messed up when we switched to a six man rotation. It took him quite a few starts to right himself. Let's hope that doesn't happen again with Estrada getting a long layoff right now.

Starting pitchers (4): LHP Cole Hamels, RHP Yu Darvish, RHP Colby Lewis, LHP Martin Perez.
Relievers (7): RHP Sam Dyson (closer), RHP Matt Bush, LHP Jake Diekman, RHP Tony Barnette, RHP Keone Kela, RHP Jeremy Jeffress, LHP Alex Claudio.
Catchers (2): Jonathan Lucroy, Robinson Chirinos.
Infielders (5): 1B Mitch Moreland, 2B Rougned Odor, SS Elvis Andrus, 3B Adrian Beltre, INF Jurickson Profar.
Outfielders (7): RF Shin-Soo Choo, CF Ian Desmond, LF Carlos Gomez, RF-DH Carlos Beltran, OF Nomar Mazara, OF Jared Hoying, OF-1B Ryan Rua.

This is pretty close to what they will probably have tmr ...

source: sportsday.dallasnews.com

I'd be scared of Beltran, Beltre , and Sin-Soo Choo, maybe Gomez

Thats it their bullpen isn't that great, maybe 2-3 guys.
Dyson?, Well we know he's not the league's best closer in Zach Britton.

I can't merge the two threads and have Hangtime as the OP, so I'm afraid this needs to be locked to keep the baseball gods from smiting us.
