I'm just curious to know what we do to either replace that production or a little bit of a different style and production is what we target and who that would be.

We're obviously going to need a DH and First Basemen along with potentially an outfielder if Joey Bats is gone. Maybe JB slides in to DH role and then we get an outfielder and someone to temporarily fill in at 1B.

I still love the idea of going after Votto and taking on all his money to avoid giving up anything significant in a trade. Rogers is minting money and should be able to afford Votto along with the other guys on this team that remain.

My guess is they don't sign anyone who costs a draft choice so we either re-sign Bats or EE ( would be surprised) or guys like Morales/Reddick types in FA.

With regards to Votto, hard to believe management/ownership would pay the prospects/and or money needed in my opinion.

Bautista and Edwin both would cost us a draft pick via opportunity cost (IOW: we are guaranteed a first round sandwich pick for each of them if any other team signs them, which is a foregone conclusion). But it's a sandwich pick rather than our first round pick, so slightly lower cost.
