Dee Gordon's first home run of the season in tribute to Fernandez was emotionally tough to watch. I teared up like a wuss...
When Chuck Norris was born the doc said "Congratulations, its a man"

The Marlins ownership (Loria and Samson) do many things with their baseball team that deserve ridicule, but pinning his death on them is tasteless and way off base.

Seriously. Unless it comes out that they forced him on the boat, forced him to drink... That's fairly unlikely.

That's what happens when you do stupid ****! Consequences are deadly, unfortunately.

What a waste of a life filled with potential. Regardless of whether or not he was driving, I'm not going to blame Fernandez for those two other deaths. Those guys weren't forced to be on the boat along with Fernandez while being aware that he was impaired. It was a choice they all made, and unfortunately, they paid the highest price. RIP.

It just goes to show just how little us fans, media and even some teammates know about someone's true personality. Fernandez was pretty much universally labelled by the media as a nice guy, someone who could be a positive face for the next generation of MLB stars. His teammates always gave glowing reviews of his leadership. Never in a million years would you have imagined Fernandez doing coke and alcohol and driving a boat in the middle of the night.

With this report, it looks like the families of the other two victims might have a legit lawsuit against Fernandez's estate. Let's hope the situation is resolved as amicably as possible.
