Zambrano in the pen?

Post#1 » by Ryanz24 » Thu Apr 5, 2007 2:38 am

I know it is just one outing, but I havent liked this idea from the begining...I think he needs to start or be down in the minors to gain some arm strength...

I hope he proves me wrong though

We don't want him starting in either the bigs or the minors atm, limited relief is the best option coming off TJ surgery. Look at what happened to Burnett last year coming off TJS, dude ended up on the DL for 1/2 the season anyway.

Zambrano showed in spring training that he can be effective from the pen, and said himself that he thought it wasn't a good idea for him to start right now.

I agree. He was a low risk investment and if he can stay healthy and help out in any way it is a plus. He was signed for only $500,000 so anything we can get from him is good. I think hes better than he showed yesterday.

It was difficult to judge anything from yesterday's game. It was simply too cold to properly grip the ball.
