Bautista outplays his contract by more than $70 million over the next four seasons (2013-2016).

it looks like he broke the bone on a swing. which could have happened in any setting, unless you think he was swinging in a way that was more susceptible to injury just because he was in the MLB. maybe he's just a little injury prone but out of all possible reasons, i don't think this would be the reason to chalk up his early promotion as a "mistake"

Why can't the Sens sell out playoff games?

Because the Leafs aren't playing them. No Leafs fans buying tickets to bail the Sens out.

pinch hitting dwight smith jr for the pitcher reminded me of that time john farrell let darren oliver bat and then didn't even bring him out the next inning. what a decision

Even siilier: it was Sergio Santos rather than Oliver, and it was his first (and only) career plate appearance.

Based on 600 PAs, Ryan Goins is now on pace to hit ~20 home runs.

Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

And after he was a pitcher, yeah. Never really hit in the minors, and never got a chance to bat as a big leaguer...save for that one time.

Sergio Santos. I remember. He's in the Jays Hall of Shame for bad trades. Not that he cost much in the end, but so much hope was vested in that turkey. One of AA's less productive trades.

Feel bad for the kid. I would rather see him play in LF over Pearce and Coghlan.

So much hope is right. I'm a sucker for high velocity guys. Went out and bought a Santos jersey for $200 when we got him. I thought he would be our closer of the future for sure with that high-90s heater and filthy slider. What a letdown that was. On the bright side, my Santos jersey could probably be a collector's item one day, since I'm likely one of 500 or fewer people who bought it lol.
