Buck already believes Morales is back to his 2015 form. I loved the comment when Gurriel came up in the 10th inning, with Pillar on second base. "You don't want to sacrifice to get Pillar to 3B, because then they'll just walk Morales intentionally."

The incompetence that goes into that statement is three-layers deep. First, you don't want to sacrifice to get Pillar over, because he's already in scoring position, there's no chance of a double play, and Pillar is fast enough to score on almost anything that makes it through the infield (and also fast enough to steal 3B, which he did easily without a throw). Second, if they were going to walk Morales because Pillar is on 3B, they'd also do so if he's on 2B. Third, having them give a free base to a guy that has an 80 wRC+ vs RHP over the past two seasons is not a bad thing (especially considering Luke Maile Superstar was on deck).

C'mon Skin Blues, Buck's a pretty low hanging fruit to pick on

He used to be our manager! haha

I actually met him in '95 when I got to sit with the Jays in the dugout during BP/warmups (he was working for TSN I think, at the time), and I got scolded by my dad for getting his autograph on a ball. So, I kinda have a soft spot for him. And he's good at most of the rest of his job even if his understanding of certain parts of strategy are a bit suboptimal.

Mike Wilner is the worst. I can’t understate how much I miss jerry. Wilner comes off as a loser but douchey and rude and ignorant too.

Like how hard is it to find someone that’s likeable and makes you want to listen. I would take that over basketball knowledge if I had to pick

I've grown not to despise Wilner so much, and he seems to be putting in more of an effort to be likable. But he is just so bad at play by play. He's really not well suited for it at all.

He fits the budget.

Should have never got rid of Alan Ashby.

Siddle is terrible man. Zaun was a better studio analyst and was entertaining at the very least.

Pillar deserves some recognition. Steamer projection had him for 1.7 fwar this season and has nearly matched that already. It was at 1.3 before todays game and with 2 hits, a walk and another diving catch in the outfield he may have gained a bit more.

Donaldson will join the team tomorrow in Cleveland.

The question with Pillar has always been for me whether he can sustain his hot streaks during the course of a full season. I always seem to remember him starting well. Hopefully this is the season where he figures it out.
