Speaking of ex-Jays draftees, Erik Kratz is 2 for 4 with a HR for the Brewers today. I had absolutely no idea he was still playing.

Hard to turn down a chance to re-re-re-acquire such a powerful bat.

Frankly, an interesting game despite the ending.

Team may have ruined Biagini.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

Was looking at Donaldson's stats

His first game back he nailed 2 home runs and has since gone 20 straight games without hitting another. That's roughly 86 plate appearances.

I think JD is chasing some pitches, he isn't getting as many fastballs as he usually does and teams would rather take their chances with Smoak but that doesn't mean he should go that stretch without hitting a home run?

The most charitable scenario is that his shoulder is still bad. Swing is a bit slow, which means less contact, fewer barrels, and having to begin his swing a touch earlier, so breaking stuff in particular is more of an issue. He really shouldn't have started the season with the team, but both the Jays (our playoff hopes) and Donaldson (getting paid this offseason) had some impetus to rush him back. Isn't turning out well for either, though.

Only going to hurt Donaldson's value in trade or FA. Should have stayed on the DL for longer or until that arm is %100.

Solid outing by Garcia yesterday. Needed to bounce back after that awful outing against the Mets.

I wonder if he doesn't pull out of this slump sufficiently to meet his free agent expectations if both sides might want to explore bringing him back for one more year as principle DH and mentor to Vlad. The 3B market at the deadline and this winter seems really well stocked, and if he isn't showing his past form, he could end up with less than he even is making this year via arbitration.

He's still hurt. I'm not convinced he was ever healthy to begin with. He wants to tough it out for the money but playing like this is hurting his paycheck more than helping it. Maybe he signs a one year deal after this year (with the Jays or someone else) and tests the market the following year, but age isn't on his side.

Wouldn't be adverse to an early-season Granderson trade, to free up some playing time when Grichuk and Pearce are back.

He should have sat out since opening day. Missing a month or two wouldn’t have really affected his payday this pro longed slump will/

Liking Travis since he got back from Buffalo. Whatever new approach he started going with is working for him.
