he could have gotten more run support... Lead off double with no outs and then K, K, pop up.....

Wouldn't mind flipping Pillar and Grichuk in the order, or move Martin and Grichuk up.

When the game is tied in late innings, how do you not bunt with a lead-off double and Devon Travis at the plate? Not that it matters I guess with the tank rolling, but when you're not leading the league in team batting average, I don't buy into the philosophy that small ball is useless.

Why?
Martin is doing SFA. Really. Truly SFA. If he wasn't a respected vet with more than a year left on a big contract, you would DFA him and open the door to a new guy, at least as a backup to Maile. Don't want to deprive Jansen of reps? Then bring up McGuire. Why do we have to watch this horse manure? Or is it cow manure? Rookies are going to struggle, too, but at least there is a bit interest in how much upside they can provide. With most of the Jays, there is no upside, only downside. And both Grichuk and Travis were overmatched today, and we're not talking here about facing Luis Severino.
This team sucks. I roasted in the sun for three hours today at the RC, and the only things that made me hopeful was Borucki, Hernandez and Gurriel, the young guys. Okay, Morale and Smoak weren't bad. But Solarte flailing awfully, twisting himself into a pretzel or sending no hopers like Grichuk, Pillar and Travis to the plate - all of whom seem to have inspired as much optimism as we're going to see in them this season and are now regressing to their respective means.
And yes, Boone did it right, with the bunt in the 10th. What do we get? An idiot sent in to pinch run picked off first with no out in the in the late innings of a one-run game. WTF!

Yup no matter where you place these hitters they will continue to suck! We better see a completely different hitting lineup for next season.. The current one is pretty much unwatchable. Complete waste of a game and no run support for Borucki. He deserves a better outcome. DFA and trade all the overpaid/aged bums on this team...

Not watching much what with the World Cup going on, but the box scores are certainly encouraging for Borucki. He throws harder than I thought he did, which makes his change that much better. Sure looks like a keeper, but let's see how he fares another time through the league.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

Pillar is down to 81 wRC+, Grichuk 94 and Martin 79. You don't have to flip any of them really but I consider Grichuk a better hitter than Pillar and Martin still gets on base. After Smoak, Granderson, Donaldson it's Martin with the next highest on base percentage on the team. That would be my only reason for it, if you wanted the possibility of Grichuk driving in another run. I'll admit martin's average is low.
As for Travis bunting, i guess the assumption is that he would get the bunt down. Am not really confident he would have he only has 2 sac bunts in 1050+ PAs.

The Jays are 5th in wRC+ over the last 30 days. 12th overall on the year without JD.
