The fallout from the Houston Astros' sign-stealing operation in 2017 continues to grow.

Former Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Mike Bolsinger filed suit against the team in a Los Angeles court on Monday claiming unfair business practices, negligence and intentional interference in with contractual and economic relations.

Bolsinger, who appeared in 11 games with the Jays in 2017, is suing for unspecified damages, but he is partially calling for the $31 million in bonuses awarded to the Astros for winning the World Series to be donated to Los Angeles-area charities (the Astros defeated the Dodgers to win the World Series), as well as to set up a financial assistance fund for retired players having difficulty making ends meet.

According to Tony Adams, an Astros fan who compiled a database of the Astros' home games that had video to identifying trash can-banging, the August 4 game against the Jays featured the highest usage of banging at 54 times. The lawsuit claims that there were bangs on 12 of Bolsinger's 29 pitches.

The game would end up being Bolsinger's final MLB appearance, designated for assignment following the game. Unable to catch on with any other team, Bolsinger signed in Japan for 2018, where he also played in 2019.

Get their ass Mike.

https://bluejaysnation.com/2020/01/30/apparently-the-astros-really-needed-to-use-their-trash-can-to-beat-cesar-valdez-and-the-blue-jays-in-2017/

Looking back on this with what we know now is… disturbing.

It’s aggravating that the Jays lost this heartbreaker largely because the Astros were cheating. But it’s even more **** up that the Astros felt the need to steal so many signs against a guy like Cesar Valdez and the mop-up crew consisting of other journeymen like Mike Bolsinger. Guys on the fringe of having careers as Major League Baseball players were out here getting shelled because the Astros wanted to pad their stats.

It’s some incredibly pathetic stuff and it makes it all the more infuriating to see the players acting cocky in the dugout after smacking the ball around the park. Just watch these guys keep going and going and going, carrying on like they’re king **** for taking batting practice.

What a bunch of trash. Fire this whole organization into space.
9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

That paragraph you quoted summed it up well. That arrogance they had, especially that midget Bregman, was so unseemly I don't care if this lawsuit is frivolous, so long as it calls attention to their disgusting behaviour.

This would set forth such a huge precedent if he has any sort of success.

but seriously, the team should be stripped of their world series win at the very least - in all fairness to the Dodgers not winning it.
