Can’t just send pitchers down cause they had a rough start. He has the tools you can’t win them all.

When he misses, it catches way too much of the plate. I think we rushed him up here at least a few months too early. Would've been nice to see him get more starts in Triple A.

I don't think that he'll be bad overall, just...probably a lesser RHP version of 2021 Robbie Ray. Very good K rate, average-ish walk rate, and a lot of hard contact in between. Definitely has the stuff to be more than that long-term, just a question of whether the majors is the place to refine his secondary stuff and learn how to pitch to spots.

Without a doubt. He's striking out more than one an inning, and a couple of the home runs were kind of flukey - the second barely cleared the fence, and the third was just good hitting moreso than a bad pitch. After that though he definitely fell apart a bit.

Let's see what Walker can do with him. He deserves more than two starts. Besides, we can't forget our alternatives - or lack thereof - right now.

BTW, where is Joe Siddall? I'd hate to think he's on a timeout - or worse - for his criticism of Montoyo. I really enjoy him as an analyst.

Ooooh, I missed that. Bullpen management? Too happy to lose?

Yea, I'm not really a fan of Bo's game at the plate. Swinging hard and bat speed doesn't mean as much when you swing out your shoes at everything. He gets the fewest mistake pitches to hit out of any of our hitters because pitchers have realized that they can ahead without throwing anything in the zone. It feels like he's in a 0-2 count every single at-bat after two pitches. Not a recipe for success.

As I was saying, Bo is the best hitter on this team.

9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

It’s not a great approach but it’s worked for him in the majors since he came up and it’s a pretty large sample size at this point. He’s even on pace for nearly a 5 WAR season this year. Not too worried about him.

So Marcus Semien is third in baseball in fWAR this year, and second since the start of 2019.

at this rate, you're good for the rest of the season! 8-)

That would be pretty nice (for the Jays), but let's not get too thirsty...one series at a time

Bo will figure it out, but I have to think he is the odd man out to bump down the lineup once Springer comes back.

Semien
Springer
Vladdy
Teoscarnandez
Bo
Grichuk
Gurriel
Biggio
Kirk

I can't wait until we get a few games together with that line-up, regardless of what order it's in.

Nice lineup offensively, but Biggio at 3B defensively? Ugh

He hasn't been holding back at all - not just on Montoyo, but the players when they make bonehead plays. I find it refreshing, and his criticism fair - best studio analyst they've had in years.

More recently, it's been mostly criticism of Montoyo's bullpen management.

Yeah that part is painful and part of me would like to flip him for a Pitcher, but if we don't re-sign or can't afford Semien next year, it would be nice to plug him in back at second. His bat needs work, but with his eye he will be a very good player if he can put it together.

For sure, he's had some success with it. I just think that there's another gear for him to reach if he can be a little more selective at the plate. Hopefully that's something that comes with experience.
