if i were the jays i would simply stop scoring runs now and instead score them against dominant relievers from the 7th inning onward with the game tied, ahead by 1 or with the tying run at least on deck

So next 11 games (all at home) are basically the season, right?

Now that's what I'm talking about!

Everyone in that lineup has a hit tonight. Dominant performance tonight by the Blue Birds. Nicely done. Hopefully this is a start of a nice winning streak for them.

The offense again shows their selfish, foolish focus on scoring runs.

We win a game by double digits every 10-14 days, none of them led to winning streaks. I believe the last time we blew out the Sox this bad we lost 6 in a row.

Yes, I’m fun at parties too….

I dont get how so many people believe in the raptors, they have zero to chance to win it all.

It's nice to be optimistic but it is absolutely the case that the tide has never turned after these wins. I am waiting for this team to produce in the clutch despite an iffy bp. Either that or a much improved bp and then you have the basis for a win streak.

For all of the gaudy stats showing how good an offensive team we are, the offense isn't winning the tight ones. I wonder what our offensive stats are in extra innings. In close games towards the end of the game?

Ya. And the problem now is they have to find that winning streak to get back in the race. Hovering just above .500 despite a great run differential has lasted too long.

Espinal should start every game at 3B from now on. This kid can hit and play defense!

Among players with 50+ balls in play, Espinal is in the 6th percentile for exit velocity. Put another way: he makes the worst contact of anyone on the Jays roster, and it isn't even close, but they're all dropping for him right now.

The odds of him being a .300 hitter (or even a .270 hitter) long-term are extremely low...dude's just getting otherworldly luck on grounders and soft liners.
