Vernon is being shut down early so he can get his surgery in at an earlier date.

Not that big of a deal, with the Jays having no chance of making the playoffs I think it is a good decision. Have him make a full recovery and be 100% for next season.

From what I've heard it should have been done prior to the season (I've heard JP say they knew last year). Hopefully he'll come back healthy for next season and put up his traditional 30/95 while he gets paid for 45/130.
