So how do we want this Red Sox vs. Yanks series to play out?
I'd rank it as follows (from most ideal to least ideal):
Red Sox Sweep
Red Sox 2-1
Yanks Sweep
Yanks 2-1
Toronto Blue Jays (84-65) at Tampa Bay Rays (92-58) - September 20-22

Red Sox need to win every game. We almost certainly aren’t catching them with their schedule.

Red Sox sweep. They are playing the Orioles and Nationals to finish the year. They will pound those teams. It will come down to us and New York for the final WC spot.

"Pretty much almost went behind me," he said of the plunking. "I thought it was a weak move, to be quite honest. It's over. It's didn't hurt by any means, so I don't care. Whatever. We move on. We got a series win, and I hope we play those guys, I really do."

Of course he does. They just gained a major strategic advantage.
