I don't like LA teams but since it is unlikely that we get him after trading for Chapman, I just hope he doesn't go to an AL East team and much better if he stays in the NL.

6 years and 162 mill, and you know if he came here, we'd probably have to offer him a bit more. Probably 6 years and 165. Yeah, while nice to dream not sure, I want to be paying Freeman an avg. of 27 mill into his 37-38 year age.

Yeah, that's not a contract we should have ever been approaching. Freeman's game has aged well, and has an above-average chance of continuing to age well, but the cliff is pretty steep for 1B/DH types if they regress much. Freeman's ZiPS projection has him overperforming is AAV in exactly one season, so...yeah.

**** your asterisk.

Re: Freddie Freeman to Jays (Rumours only)
ya, we know that we were going to have to sign Freeman for a long term contract at that money. he may have dangled the propsect of playing for us to gain leverage on other suitors via the rumours. Jays would have probably taken him in if he only wanted to play for the Jays but its good they went the Chapman route becaue we already have Vladdy at 1st. now its time to either go into the season as is or JRam is the next target. our infield would be incredible. if Gurriel is gone via trade we have Grichuk as the replacement.

9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.
