It's a quartet if you include Gurriel, whose father is a Cuban legend. More bloodlines than a Kentucky stable.

Griffin Conine to take over for Grichuck eventually?

If he can stop striking out 40% of the time.

Gurriel has made a Siakam-like leap this year. Dude looks like a stud.

Aren’t they essentially the same player? Homerun or strike out

Yeah, right now Conine makes Grichuk look like Willians Astudillo.

That said, if you want to feel better about Conine's K rate, check out Toronto's own Gareth Morgan:

https://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=sa828708&position=OF

He's hitting .285/.319/.631 with a HR every 10 plate appearances, striking out 48.1% of the time.

Last year his k rate was 27%, which is more reasonable if he brings on the power.

I hope he can revert back to that.

First inning offers a glimpse of our near future once this team gets rolling again.

Bichette, Gurriel, and Guerrero wreaking havoc.

Biagini seems to be unravelling. He no longer seems to be capable of a clean inning. Certainly contributed to Sunday's loss, now this.

With 53 games remaining, we need to go 21-32 or better the rest of the way to avoid 100 losses. A high draft pick would be nice, but now that the full young core is in place - on the offensive side, at least - I'd like to see them string some wins together and build some momentum into next year. This team should not be losing 100 games this year, even with all the injuries.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

This team seemingly blows a lot of games better teams would win. Either that or they go games where they can't score any runs. That's a losing combo. I don't expect them to start winning a bunch of games all of a sudden yet. Maybe next year.

They aren't going to win a bunch of games or anything but they're also not as bad as they were in the early/middle season there from April into June. Losing Stroman hurts but not playing Edwin Jackson helps way more. They've got enough bats that they aren't going to be losing games with them like they were early in the season even if they won't win a bunch with them. They're going to go as their pitching goes, which won't be good but also won't be a disaster. I don't think they're going to play into the 8-9 spots in the draft, though.
