No question. They're the better team.

This team easily tops in frustration

Shatkins came in to fill seats and modernize the ballpark. That's Rogers' real goal and the management nailed it.

I mean, we've scored a TOTAL of 10 runs in the past 6 games and are only behind the Dodgers for most runners left on base this season. If it wasnt for the drastically improved starting pitching this year, this team is easily below .500 right now...with a 217 million sallary. What i dont understand is why nothing has been done about this. Hitting coach not fired, approaches at the plate never changing. They are simply letting this train derail and watching the inevitable wreck that follows with zero intervention from the GMs, the Managers or the Players themselves. Its just business as usual for these guys.

They could re-sign Whit but I’d also think that is unlikely given their internal options at 2B. Kiermaier is a bad fit on a team that already has an elite fielding/no hit CF so he’s definitely gone.

This team looks quite clearly to be getting worse in the offseason.

Whit has i believe a team option at 18 or 19 mill, they won't do better in fa market, plus he has position versatility, so I'm pretty sure they'll pick it up.

And forget Chapman, whether he's important part of this year team, he's gonna be 32 next year already at 30+ k rate, which will likely go up as he ages. Would you want to give a 5 year 150 mill deal. With all that, I'd rather give an unproven rookie a chance, hopefully he doesn't k at 30% rate

Not a chance they're giving Whit Merrifield 18M a year at age 35. He's almost certainly gone.

The Jays also clearly shouldn't sign Chapman, but that doesn't mean they aren't gonna downgrade significantly at that position when he goes.

You can decline the option and see if Whit will negotiate for a different lower price. No one is going to pay him big money

Varsho and swinging at the high fastball and missing horribly. At this point id just order my pitchers to throw him exclusively high heaters if i was an opposing manager and beg him to beat me.

If I were him, I'd try to get multiple years from someone while he still can (especially after a good year like this at his age) and I don't expect that is something the Jays will be interested in.

And yet neither Varsho or our Hitting coach have deemed it necessary to make any adjustments in his hitting approach. Same goes for pretty much everyone in this lineup. Says a lot about this team.

3-0 count, two fastballs down the middle and Chapman does absolutely NOTHING with them. This is the kind of hitting approach thats been plaguing this team all year long. The fact that nothing has been done to address this problem is baffling.

Kirk has been one of their best hitters for a month or so now. No way you're pinch hitting Jansen in that spot when you have black holes like Espinal and Varsho in the lineup in the 6th. Also, is he even available?

This has been the case all year long. The whole mentality of this entire team is just business as usual, no drive, no ambition, no urgency to win. The fact that Schneider has been resting key starters on a daily basis while in the stretch run of a wild card race tells you all you need to know about this teams priorities.
