The ground ball hitter DH who has better OPS in his worst season compared to Gimenez's best season? Yeah Randle, we get it. You like obese catchers and derenders on fat contracts that can't hit.

Vlad’s worst season: 106 wRC+ (2019)
Gimenez’s best season: 141 wRC+ (2022)

???

Cora pitching to Vlad with the base open there should get him fired.

wRC+ is the most comprehensive rate statistic used to measure hitting performance because it takes into account the varying weights of each offensive action and then adjusts them for the park and league context in which they took place.

Give it a rest dude. A lineup of 9 vlads will be infinitely better than that of 9 Jimenez's.

Wow vlad actually came up clutch. And he hit one out that normally isn’t in his wheelhouse. Slider below the zone. Interesting.

Is that a signature? He usually struggles with low pitches I’m surprised he got to that one below the knees.

They’d probably still win more games tbh.

The real MVP

You were having orgasms about Varsho in April/May last year also, when he was hitting like Barry Bonds to start the year for the first 2 weeks or so. You then we're making your 2024 projections for him due to his hot start. I said then let's see how Varsho does in the coming weeks. Varsho then proceeded to suck offensively (hitting below .200 for 5 months).

Same thing happened in 2023, when Varsho had an incredible three weeks to start the year, and then faded the rest of the year and was one of the worst hitting regulars in MLB. I truly hope 2025 is different for this guy. If 2025 is different than 2023 and 2024- then I would be the first to say so. History says otherwise. We will see in the coming weeks if he is the same .200 hitter of the past two seasons, or a different player this year.

You can just be happy about Varsho and ignore him. You don’t need to hate him because of an internet argument.
9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

Because Santander is behind him hitting below .175 on the season and a groundball rocket from Vlad with the infield in very likely scores two runs if not hit directly at an infielder? Other than Springer, Vlad is also the only above average hitting regular on the team so far this season.

It was an incredibly obvious choice to make. Terrible managing not to walk him.
