Teams aren't exactly out there offering quality major league starting pitching for nothing. It'll cost them if they try to make a trade for one.

Another reason letting Yarbrough go was so silly.

If you throw 92 you better have elite control and a good pitch mix. Bowden does not have any of those things lmao

This was predictable.

Throwing away games in June will cost us in September.

Bowden Francis's next Start should be in Buffalo. I do not care who you call up, but enough is enough. The man is not fooling anyone throwing his Meatballs to opposing hitters.

HRs to the 8 and 9 hitters now cool

I wouldn't even bother wasting our high leverage RPs for this one, we aren't winning unless we score 10+

What will really cost them in September is having 3 major league caliber SPs in the entire organization

Spencer Turnbull has an ERA of 9.95 in Buffalo, and an ERA of 7.13 in his 5 minor league games (Dunedin and Buffalo). Apparently the Jays have to call him up tomorrow under terms of his contract or he becomes a FA... unless Turnbull mutually agrees to stick around Buffalo a little longer.

Adam Macko has only pitched at the Rookie Complex, and has a mediocre ERA of 3.63 at that level.

Move up Lauer, and make a minor trade for a semi- competent 4th/5th starter with an ERA around 4.00 this year.

I’ll take a Urena type free agent at this point.

Bowden is throwing lollipops like it’s batting practice
He’s been so much worse than the scorecard suggests, thanks lately to excellent defence

Worst comes to worst, when Sandlin and Garcia are healthy and able to return to the bullpen- maybe move Rodriguez to the Rotation. You hate to do that, but there are no good options right now unless you make a trade for a 4th/5th Starter.

Doesn't have to much of a quality guy -- can be a 4.00 to 5.00 type ERA guy. Not very competent, but better then Francis who has now been at 8.00 ERA over 9 starts.

Anyway, good thing is we can now avoid the #5 spot in the rotation until Saturday, June 21. Lauer/Bullpen slides into the #4 slot. Gives us time to figure something out in terms of Scherzer, small trade/big trade.

 I really hope I don’t see Francis pitch another game for the Blue Jays. he can't go more than 3 to 4 innings, giving up a ton of HRs and has an ERA over 6. He's been terrible!

At minimum we are not seeing him for about 2 weeks. And it would be really disappointing if the Jays couldn't find somebody else to start a game 2 weeks from now. Even if they suck, they can't be worse than Francis.

We are lucky to be only down 4-3 in this one.
- Twins constantly had guys on base and hit 2 home runs. Thankfully those 2 long balls were just solo shots.
- Potentially all of our runs can be tracked back to Twins defensive miscues.

I should apologize to Chad Green, Swanson is the worst guy in this pen. His stuff hasn't been MLB caliber since the 2023 season

Trading Swanson for Teoscar (especially when we needed Teoscar's bat in 2023/2024) ranks as one of the most idiotic moves made by this front office.

The concern isn't losing to the Twins, the concern is fielding a team with 3 major league SPs
