I assume at one point Varland was a candidate for the start tomorrow. That is probably off the table now.

My guess is its Francis to start.

In that case lets move on to G5

Prediction: I think it might be Gausman for one inning.

He's over thinking things, trying to play 4D chess.

I don't think John managed poorly today. You had to go to the pen, and you had to use a lot of them so its not lot choice "a" was better than choice "b". Both a and b were going to pitch.

He needed the bullpen and the fielders to execute and they didn't.

I have no issues with pulling Bieber early. He didn't have it and we had a rested pen.

Rodrigues looked confident out there.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

I have been saying that Santander has no business playing in the outfield since the start of the series, especially at Yankee Stadium. I would have had him as DH, with Springer in LF today, and Lukes in RF. Why could not these idiots had realized that over a guy like me posting on a forum?

In addition, I have been saying that IKF had no business Starting at Second when he is overrated defensively there (actually plays better at Third Base and SS). Yet IKF was Starting at Second Base, and Santander in RF. Self inflicted wounds starting those two.

Schneider didn’t do a thing wrong and he doesn’t set the lineup

This choke is on the players who choked

Barger error changed complexion of the inning… bieber didn’t have it. Our bullpen sucks again. Should’ve swapped the 10 runs from game 1 for tonight.

I have said a few times over the past few days to consider Gausman for 3 or 4.

How about going with Gausman until he runs into trouble?
Keep a reliever active in the pen and ready to go as the fill in whether its inning 2, 3 or 4. Then warm up Lauer after that.

Sweeping the Yanks was wishful thinking, though when up 6-1, looked like a possibility.

Late inning magic?

What a disaster. With a 6-1 lead and Shane Bieber starting, it's mind boggling how we got to this spot.

Bieber sucked. As much as people criticize the defense, he choked at the biggest stage. He could not even complete three innings.

There was no need to pull him after a sacrifice fly, plus 1 run on an error..he was still up 3 runs..could have settled down and win it for us..

He was not "settling down" he gave up like 8 balls over 100mph tn and 5 in that inning alone. McMahon almost hit one for a HR his first at bat. Maaaaaaaaaaaaybe you give him McMahon (cause McMahon sucks) but if he somehow didnt get him then it would've been wraps for him anyways.

Springer is a disaster in the outfield this year too

There’s no good choices here. Santander gives you offense and Straw gives you defense, the Jays will probably side with defense tomorrow given that mess today

He’s really kind of mid.

He’s quite good and throws the one pitch that the Yankees struggle with

Yeah. That’s what they’re all saying…. All the New York Yankees can’t hit a sinker. And the league just found this out yesterday!

Truth is Gausman got through game 1 pitching pretty well and with some smoke and mirrors. It’s the Yesavage sinker that they can’t hit.

He didn’t throw today for a reason I think.

Wouldn’t be surprised if he goes 1 or 2 innings.

It’s the splitter they can’t hit, all of their numbers all year suggest that
