really should have been Hoffman if he actually had confidence in him, you use your closer there for the 6 outs.

They’ve been using Hoffman in 6 run leads

It’s pretty clear what they think of the guy

He still would have been in for the 9th if they had the lead.

Maybe but they’ve not been using him in any way that would suggest they think he’s good

This loss is all on you.

I'm happy to be the jinx to get a winning outcome but now that you are involved, you have reverse-jinxed it.
I was wondering where you were. Hiding in the bushes waiting to strike!

I guess this isn’t as bad as the choke job against the Yankees since we were only up 1 in this one

I don’t think I’ll ever get over this decision

Why did he do it- Little against the meat of the order, against some of the best HR hitters in the majors and to start an innings to face the full minimum

The team is devastated, you can see it in their faces. I think there’re done emotionally, I don’t think they can recover

Exactly.

I can’t believe we just watched a potential WS trip slip away because of the stupidest decision in a one-run game.

Do we have a best option? If so, who was it

You bring your closer in there. They have been riding or dying with Hoffman all season and he had actually looked decent recently.

your analytics are garbage if your analytics tell you to put Little out there in the bottom of the 8th with a 1-run lead....wake up you bunch of losers :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Does schneider owe Little money?

I dont get it. The whole season everyone and their mother knew Little does not throw for strikes and he throws wild pitches. With a bullpen of Fisher, Hoffman, Dominguez before the disaster, why the heck are you pitching Little????

Just puzzling.

It was Chris Bassitt

He’s a major league pitcher.

It’s Fisher but nobody wants to hear that

Well, they are the 2 in the top tier. Followed in the next tier by Fluharty and Nance.

I’m definitely piggybacking Bassitt behind Gausman though. You know Chris can’t comprehend why he hasn’t been used at all when you see this bull.

Honestly, any one of Fisher, Fluharty, Hoffman, Lauer (if they wanted a lefty for some reason), or even Bassitt would have worked. In other words, don't bring in the guy whose entire gimmick was getting batters to swing at balls in the dirt for 2 months until they figured him out and he sucked since June.

Well, finally one of the weird moves this manager/FO made backfires big time.

It was only a matter of time. Too much of a streak of luck with Scherzer, Kiner Falefa working out so well yesterday.

Season is likely done barring a miracle.
