In the 9th he lost control of his splitter a few times but thank god he was already at the bottom of the Mariners order by then.

He was at like 30 pitches tbf and the meat of the order couldnt really get to him at all.

Another bad game for Schneider. I have no confidence in this guy right now.

- Starts IKF
- Lets IKF bat with the bases loaded in the 7th when we're 1 hit away from blowing it open
- Lets George bat in the 8th, up 4, when it looks like the guy is 1 swing away from missing some serious time
- Burns out his closer up 4
- Hoffman popped the red nose on his clown suit by showing he should have pitched game 5

All fair points. I cannot disagree with any of these points.

yeah i often disagree with some his player management calls. but to give credit where credit is due he could easily, easily, have taken out yesavage either of those times the bases were loaded tonight, which could have been a disaster. but he stuck with him. those moves took a lot of balls, and they worked. like most managers he's hit and miss. it's just the reality.

i think he deserves credit for getting the best out of his squad and helping a lot of guys to contribute in different ways. but despite what I said about yesavage tonight i think his use of pitchers seems to be his weakness.

though as far as hoffman goes i don't myself disagree with using him to close out the game. it was a life or death need to close it out and he was pitching well. i was ok with riding him to the season-saving victory when any other move brought bigger risks.

I have been saying it for the past couple of days. Too much common sense I guess. I would have Clement hit 4th, Barger at 5, Kirk at 6, Varsho at 7. Even Varsho at 8.

Yesavage is a major league pitcher who just showed that he can get out of his own jams if he makes good enough pitches.

Sea knows how to pitch Varsho better than the Yankees did.

really? you guys are going to mess with a batting order that has the most productive bottom of the order in pretty much living memory while our top of the lineup has also been producing steadily? in a game 7?

I found it a bit odd that they had Bieber talk at the post game presser (or was that pre-game)

Barger was the hero but the media needs to curate a vladdy headline.

Why does this make you mad? I’ve been ragging on vladdy all season for not quite living up to the hype but he absolutely deserves all of it this post season…

Yes. When it matters you want your best hitters with the most at bats. You want varsho striking out with the bases loaded or Ernie clement who has a base hit every other at bat?

This is one of the best playoff runs youll ever see. 6 Homeruns to 2 SO is a mind boggling ratio. He deserves all the flowers he can get.

I gotta say it. Hoffman is a low leveredge pitcher for the rest of the season. Dude has been broken and all shook up. That doesn't mean he's useless.....this was the perfect situation for him.

The only way he gets into a game where there's only a 1 or 2 run lead is if it goes into a 15th or 16th inning.

Actually shows that the whole uproar about the Little decision was just typical rear view window baseball fandom. Hoffman looked shook with a 4 run lead.Something happened to his psyche. It happens. But please don't give this guy the ball with a one run lead. Low leveredge guys have their place on a team too.

I almost want Beiber to give up a first inning solo homer just to make him mad. Lets GO.

Were we watching the same game? He just pitched 2 scoreless through the heart of the order to close it...

Read my sig.

It wasn't even a save. You guys talked more ish about Hoffman than i have. He did NOT look good in this game. If you know anything (you don't)...you will know they put him in and told him to throw strikes. AKA low leveredge.

He didn't have command but you wouldn't know that either way.

i understand the principle. but having guys on base when springer and lukes and guerrero come up also has led to a whole lot of runs. think how rarely it happens for seattle that raleigh comes up with men on base.
