Is Teahen still in this deal? If so it would make sense to take back his salary if it meant giving up a lesser player. Wow. Getting Rasmus with Stewart being the best prospect going back would be incredible. Escobar part II.

Still think it's Rzep.

Heyman is confirming that the flip for Rasmus is on. Not that it's any surprise, but it means that the deal is almost certainly in stone, rather than still being negotiated.

...and this is why you stockpile pitching prospects. If Stewart is the best prospect heading out, this is a very good deal.

One scary thought: how much of Teahen will Farrell throw out there?

wasn't Teahen a top prospect at one point? was in injuries that derailed him or were the scouts simply wrong about him?

Now that I think about it, wonder if it's going to be Aaron Hill involved?

Even if Rasmus is average defensively, use him there until Gose is ready. His offense, especially if he bounces back, will more than make up for it.

:o

Can't he just sit on the bench for a season and a half and become friends with Molina and JMac?

Wow. I'll wait for reserve judgment but getting Rasmus would be huge.

He was a fairly well-regarded prospect, but that was more than half a decade ago.

Will the change in ball-park affect Rasmus much?

His UZR is low because of a terrible range score, but the fangraphs 'plays made in zone' shows that he's been better this year than last, but still has a much worse range score.

Talks of Rzep, Dotel being included.

With Mills coming up to pitch in relief, it may actually be Rzep that's going.

Busch III is a fairly standard shape (essentially the same shape in CF and the gaps as the Dome), but for whatever reason seems to play considerably bigger. How that affects his defense, I'm not sure; was wondering the same thing earlier.

Teahen can play 3B and OF so he will have value as a bench player. Just way overpaid. That's the cost of getting Rasmus cheaper, hopefully.

I just hope he is not our full-time DH next year. If E5 is gone, he can play back-up 3B, fifth OF, and once in a while DH. 5.25 million is hard to swallow thou, but we did it for Rivera this year, and Teahen is a bit better position player than Rivera.

Patterson getting DFA'd if this is done? Davis goes to 4th OF/ Designated PR role? McCoy back to minors?

If the deal turns out to be Frasor, Rzep, Dotel and Stewart for Rasmus and Teahen, this is stupid-good. Takes a big chunk out of our bullpen short-term, but for a long-term answer in CF (and the chance to give Mills and perhaps Carreno and/or Farquhar a trial run), it'd be amazing.

Trade of Rasmus to Toronto imminent for Jackson, Dotel, Rzepczynski. More @stltoday.

Did we not even send a prospect?!

They don't have home/away defensive splits on fangraphs. Know anywhere else to get them?
