Atkins is lying through his teeth. Schneider basically said it was an organizational decision, since he cannot directly come out and say that Atkins and his Analytics Clowns had mapped the game out that way. What a disgrace for Atkins to throw his Manager under the bus, and then say Schneider will come back next year. After that disgusting news conference, I hope Ed Rogers does the right thing and fire Atkins. Promote James Click to run Baseball Operations. Have Shapiro strictly focus on the stadium renovations, or get rid of him too. This organization is a laughingstock with MLB writers all over North America, and MLB players looking at Ross Atkins and this organization as a joke right now.

If Schneider had a spine, he'd talk to the media after being thrown under the bus like that. But Atkins is hoping to avoid that by promising him job security. They're both clowns.

Schneider talk to the media and say what exactly? If he goes against the front office narrative in any way, he's never getting another managerial job in MLB for the rest of his career.

When even Wilner isn't "Wilnering" anymore for this organization, you know you've truly lost the plot.

When Mike Shillner even had enough of Ross Atkins and his lies, then you know the tide is turning with Clown Ross Atkins. Hopefully Ed Rogers does the right thing and get rids of him, so the Shapiro news conference next week would be to introduce James Click as the new GM of this team.

Atkins has lost the trust of the fans and I’d guess the players as well.

The fact that he’s pinning the Berrios fiasco on Schneider proves he is the weasel we thought he was.

His side of the story. If he accepts Ross' side of the story, he's not getting another job regardless. Nobody is going to hire a manager that makes those types of decisions.

Yikes, just listened to it all. I thought things were looking very gloomy in general about the whole club since they got eliminated but i think things are much much worse now. I just don't trust what Schneider or Atkins says at this point. It seems like there are enormous issues internally around communication and cohesion.

The fact that none of this looks set to change in the near term is extremely worrying

If even Shillner has gotten off the train, we might actually be getting close to a change.

Atkins made it sound like they were gone, likely still are. But just speaks to his management style. Convoluted.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

Corporate politics in the workplace is so scummy. This kind of thing happens everywhere to some extent but we see it play out publicly here in what is basically an entertainment organization. Imagine needing to publicly put your balls in the refrigerator in order to keep your job like Schneider here. Yeah for a person in the public eye the pay is good compared to the average person but is it really worth shelving one's dignity for all to see? I'm not so sure it is. But I guess some people make that calculation and feel it's worth it.

I think the implication is that most MLB teams already know who's really making the decisions here and a yes-man is always valuable to some extent to many execs around the league

His side of the story gets him fired and never gets him another job in baseball. Seems like a weird thing to blame him for not doing.

All most of these front offices want is errand boys and puppets who will follow instructions. Everyone in baseball knows that's exactly what Schneider is at this point. He'll be fine as long as they do.

He has a very young family. Yeah, it's probably worth it to them and worth more than his pride that he keep a managerial job in baseball.

And this is why Rogers can get away with a **** product. Upvoted comments from homers on Reddit:

Shapiro and Atkins have put together a consistent playoff team after only a 3 year complete rebuild. The’ve also breathed new life into the stadium so things are booming on the business side. Baseball is hard. They overdid the analytics for sure on the pitching side but 18 other teams would have killed to be in this position.

very nice Rosie thanks for your input! anyway...

One day I hope Rosie learns to be embarrassed by the articles she vomits up

Jfc another article like this? Stop being a victim. Baseball is a product, if it’s not for you anymore then stop watching it

That last comment has been regurgitated by casual fans all season. Rogers loves to hear it.
