The Jays are working too hard coming up with all of those details. They should save their energy. People are so sincere, they still think it’s about science or the details… It’s pretty simple.

The team comes home as soon as a federal election is announced. Trudeau is saving the “border opening” as a political tactic/good news to boost his reelection. Jmho.

Seems to me the release today was just a way to pressure the federal government and get the public further on the Jays' side. No other reason to release that particular information at this point.

Woo! By virtue of being born slightly later in the year, Vladdy becomes the youngest player to win the All-Star MVP award, beating Griffey Jr by 17 days!

As anticipated, Trudeau has no intention of making a decision with any kind of political risk involved. And unlike with the Stanley Cup/Habs, this certainly wouldn't be as popular a decision in their polling.

I continue to doubt that the Jays will be playing in Toronto this year. The decision to keep them out was never a scientific one in the first place and it continues not to be. Also growing increasingly skeptical about the Raptors' return as well (which I have little doubt is a major factor in why Masai Ujiri remains un-signed).

Well that's something at least. Only with vaccinated players/staff coming in, though. That will never fly with MLB and the other teams.

It turns out the source was on the mark after all. There was no acceptance of any proposal (and none likely forthcoming), so TFC and MLS just took it upon themselves unilaterally to make the announcement based on the current border rules in place and dared the Trudeau government to stop them. I love it. Expose these political hacks for what they are and ramp up the pressure.

But almost every other SP this site pushed the Jays to sign has **** the bed.

He also signed a 2 year contract which the Jays were avoiding with their pitchers. They wanted to keep the books as clean as possible for next off season

Clown show. Haven't approved or rejected a game that starts in 3 days while MLS/TFC apparently just went **** it and made the decision for them.
