I genuinely didn't think it was home run off the bat.

Really? As soon as he made contact I stood up it looked like an obvious bomb to me

in the broadcast, it sounded and looked like it from the swing, his temperate reaction to after the swing made doubt crept in.

I'm definitely having Varland fatigue. I feel like we've seen Varland pitch more in these playoffs than any other pitcher we have, including our starters.

The sad part is despite him being a home run machine he’s still our most consistent reliever. He’s had some good moments, and he also at least throws strikes… look at that bullpen man other than Hoffman he’s really the best we got.

The fact this all happened with an inured Bo Bichette, a massively underperforming and injured Santander, a rookie starting pitcher who was in A to start this season, a 41 year old nearly washed HOFer, and Vladdy after the drought he was in… OVER power like the Yankees and Mariners had… is absolutely mind blowing.

I thought it was gone at first also from the pop and reaction but the way the outfielder began tracking it and the brief moment of silence as the camera man kept showing the fence did give me a moment of doubt if I’m being honest.

Also shout-out to J Rod for one of the worst ABs I've ever seen. Tough to strike out when you get thrown six balls.

Like I always said, trust in Hoffman in the one run game

when it panned to the left fielder walking and looking towards the fence, i knew 110% it was gone.

that was like the Bautista Homer. I know it was only a 1 run game at that point but it was the momentum changer. Seattle was demoralized after that.

To be fair Hoffman actually located those sliderw well. Started on outside part of the zone with sharp break. The only horrible swing was the last pitch that was well out of the zone.
