Re: Around MLB, 2023 edition
I will choose to believe that losing 2/3 to the Jays has them in shambles.
9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

No idea about the quality of prospects the White Sox are getting back, but I love that they’ve picked a direction and leaned into it.

Given that the White Sox are one of the worst-drafting teams in the majors over the past decade, it's a sensible direction. They had a brief moment where they had a bunch of exciting pitching prospects, but then their arms fell off as is sadly common. They had one of the largest payrolls in the majors entering this season and they suck and have no easy path to stop sucking...it needed nuking.

**** your asterisk.

His BABIP is 65 points above his career norm, so it's seriously questionable whether it's sustainable. He also isn't a strong defender anymore, though playing in Coors doesn't help matters, but Grichuk and Varsho have been worth the same amount of fWAR this season (though Varsho has played more). We haven't missed out on that much.

**** your asterisk.
