Prior to today, he had an ERA of 2.78 in postseason career, over 68.1 IP. He's a very good pitcher, but he got rocked tonight.

crazy performance by the pitching staff.

Managers and their dumb pitching changes.

Alvarez hits lefties just as well as he does righties.

Phew, Yankees didn't win it, Rays didn't win it, and Phillies didn't win it.

I am officially over our choke job now.

The HOU Astros are a well built team from lineup, SP and bullpen. Unlike our GM who refuses to invest in a bullpen

Bullpens are usually total crapshoots. They’re mostly just failed starters. Schad has posted about this myth about investing in the bullpen, many times.

You are speaking about it on average (across the league) bullpens are a crapshoot, being volatile year to year. But obviously HOU front office has the capability to identify relievers who can dominate consistently and ensure they perform year in and out.

Ryan Pressly has the same contract length but less AAV than Kikuchi. Let that sink in.

Houston's bullpen was mediocre last year, and the mediocrity of Houston's bullpen is a large part of the reason they did not win a title. They had a FIP that was at league median/SIERA that was a shade above, and in the 2021 World Series they were poor, notably blowing Game 4 to hand Atlanta a 3-1 lead in the series.

If your argument is that it's possible to build a bullpen that is consistently very good, you should probably choose a team other than Houston.

Wow, $20 million AAV for a reliever over 5 years is nuts.

Rays have traded away Ji-Man Choi for a MiLB RHP.

Anybody familiar with Jack Hartman?
