Re: Around the MLB
If the Rangers don't win the World Series in the next 2 years, with Semien and DeGrom aging, they won't win it ever in my lifetime. It will be a 35-year recovery. 6th-year option? Yikes.
Is anybody here a marine biologist?

$685 million on 3 players. Yikes! Texas better hope they win something during the term. Good on the players though. I would sign as well if I was offered that kind of money. No state tax too. That's a lot of money!

you know what they say, hate the game, not the player

I mean, hell, I'd sign with Texas for a tenth of that money.

Re: Around the MLB
This might be a nuclear hellfire take, but...I actually like Nootbaar's bat more than Reynolds' going forward. They were virtually identical by wRC+ and wxOBA last year, but Nootbaar has much less swing-and-miss, made harder contact, and had the better all-around batting profile last year.
And while Reynolds can play CF, in 2022 he played CF pretty badly, so that's not a major advantage over Nootbaar, who played RF quite well. Throw in two extra years of control, and that Morosi seemed to believe that Jansen (plus something?) was in play for Nootbaar while it'd presumably take Moreno or Tiedemann to get Reynolds, and I'd prefer the former to the latter.

if it's jansen, and depending on what the plus is, you take that deal in the run. I wonder if it's truly that they think jansen can call better game than either of other catchers bs
