Fwiw guys on the Fan today were saying Kirby's a fastball pitcher so the aggressive first pitch approach worked. Castillo has one of the best changeups so maybe going back to working longer counts will be the way. I don't know, just saying what I heard

IKF should never be starting a playoff game, but starting him tonight at least makes some sense. Using him against LHP when he sucks against them was a joke. At least he hits better against RHP and has a good small sample history against Castillo. They should have started Davis regardless, but this one is more defensible than starting IKF against Fried or a lefty in general.

Either way, picking up IKF off waivers was low (or high?) key the worst move of the deadline.

I don't think it was a bad move necessarily. No IKF we have somebody like Leo Jimenez on the roster post Bo Injury. Its just that we are using him more than what his role should be.

Take tonight for example. IKF would be fine as a backup IF for tonight as he can play all 3 positions very competently if needed. But Schneider should be starting.
