The Angels needed 134 pitches to record the first 12 Blue Jays outs. Wow.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

I think they have now

Yeah, you’re right. They initially had it as an error for some reason.

So Palacios is (the 150MILLION$$$-cheaper-version of) Springer!

You should all thank me, as soon as Ohtani hit that triple, I turned off the sound & turned off the TV kept the stream running/going.

Finished my current Jack Reacher novel just now fantastic read. & just turned the TV back on & unmuted the sound & lo & behold

we are winning 14-1! Your all very welcome.

I haven’t looked up any stats recently but tellez is horrible. Dude looks lost at the plate half the time and he’s a DH/bat off the bench. Sad

Ya, it’s not the 0-21 that’s the problem, that can be bad luck. But he’s completely lacked both patience and plate disciple. He’s not drawing walks. He’s not waiting for good pitches to hit. He’s not hitting into hard outs.

He’s looked every bit the part of a player who is 0-21 with 1 walk.

Nurse is below average at best.
Masai is overrated.
I dont get how so many people believe in the raptors, they have zero to chance to win it all.

LEAFS/JAYS/RAPTORS ALL WIN! THE TRIFECTA! WOOHOO! HOORAY! :P! :)! :D!

And what Ohtani/the Angels didn't bring him in to score off of that triple?!? Wowowowowo

What the hell is Palacios wearing on his hand? A baking glove? Is he gonna bake me some cookies in the outfield? :D Lolz!

Now to hope for the rainout tomorrow so Roark doesn’t have to pitch.

Why is Milone credited for a save when they’re up 1000 runs

If you close out a win by pitching 3+ innings you earn a save, no matter if you’re up by 1 when you come in, or 30.

Jays have an interesting dilemma once Springer and Hernandez are back. The starting outfield is some combination of those two plus Grichuk and Gurriel Jr. You certainly don't want to keep Grichuk's bat out of the lineup most days, so one of those four will often be DH. Or one rests and Vlad gets a DH day. Tellez is basically a spot 1B (although other players can play 1B, notably Biggio.) Panik is a spot infielder, but until Atkins is ready to clear out the logjam, the team might send back to the taxi squad Espinal and Palacios, which is sub-optimal offensively, and Espinal is the best bet defensively for third base. The only argument in my mind for Tellez and Panik is that they are both lefthand batters, but if they are not hitting or playing, what is their role? I suppose if management wants to keep a left hand bat on the bench, they could keep Palacios, sending either Davis out (I think Palacios is the better natural hitter) or Tellez. The latter move would be an average-for-power trade but Palacios has more of a role in the field as a late inning defensive replacement or as a pinch runner.

Dexter Fowler's awkward slide into second Friday night? At first the Angels said it was just a sprain, nothing much, might not even go on the IL. Today they announce it's a torn ACL.

Yikes, has there been a 35 year old who came back from a torn ACL in baseball?

He's in the final year of that frankly disastrous contract as it stands, and it was going to be a challenge for him to find a full-time gig next year barring a real resurgence. This unfortunately might be the end of the line for Fowler.
