Chances like this don't come around often, and we had more chances the last two days than we'll ever have again. That's what hurts. Guys like Vladdy, Clement and Barger were so good...

Jays 27th in the league for players left on base. If this isnt the definition of asking to choke, I dont know what is... https://www.teamrankings.com/mlb/stat/left-on-base-per-game

Yup, baseball was my first sport I loved growing up. I left because MLB didn't have a salary cap. It pissed me off that it was the same teams every year who could out spend everyone and see themselves in the postseason.

Yeah, lots to be excited about next year. Barger could explode, Yesavage has the makings of a #1, etc. I'm not sure they'll be able to replicate this year's magic, but they should be competitive.

I know you tried to bump that thread but JaysRule15 locked it

It was locked before the WS once Varsho stats regressed to the mean. Single-handedly lost the World Series. Stands alone in that distinction for the Jays.

What would you do instead? Pitch around him or walk him to get to Ohtani?

I'd get us a proper **** closer.

We could have easily won this series with a smarter FO.

And manager. Twice this series he's burned us with the ridiculous AAA lineup that ended up in extras. Can't have guys like IKF and Straw in your lineup in games like this. That stuff is fine in the regular season, but you can't just assume that a 1-2 run lead is going to hold to warrant pulling superior players in favor of defense.

Im not convinced. The longer he’s seen the more his unique throwing angle will become less unique and he’s still mostly a 3 pitch guy with a mediocre fastball. Once guys adapt to his unique throwing angle he’s going to seem a lot less special with the Ks and it’s his swing and miss right now that makes him so special.

Even if they come back and win it years later, this choke will sting for years, maybe even decades. 4-3 going into the 9th.

Being honest, considering the home run 93, the Spinger home run not too long ago....we were probably due for a loss like this for the Jays. Literally every fan base has one of these types of crushing losses.

It's fitting Hoffman was our closer because all year he was terrible at it, I honestly thought Ohtani was the one who was going to hit the home run of him.

Also, Yamamoto is absolutely and deservedly legend now. At our expense, but still.

We got hits on him. We got on base. We couldn't bring them home. A lot of the times they even **** themselves over with 0 outs because of some dumb brain fart. Game 2 was Yamamoto being great, but Game 6 and 7 was us choking with RISP
