Re: 2021-22 Offseason Thread
Taylor for the 4 years, $64m MLBTR projects seems like a far better idea than Bryant for 6 years, $160m.
Taylor, last five seasons: 2382 PA - 14.1 fWAR.
Bryant, last five seasons: 2489 PA - 17.8 fWAR.
Bryant's been better, but not $10m a year and two extra years better.

**** your asterisk.

Better, but still not all that excited about having to give up a pick for another right handed bat. Ah, well. Nothings going to happen for quite a while now.

Looks like Chris Taylor is resigning with Dodgers >
The Dodgers are making progress on a deal to bring Chris Taylor back to Los Angeles, reports Jeff Passan of ESPN (on Twitter).

I don't really mind if they're right-handed; we had the second-best wRC+ against RHP last year despite our righty-heavy lineup, and while Bryant has a pronounced platoon split, he hits them well (and Taylor's platoon split is minimal).
Like you though, I'd rather that we just signed Kyle Seager on a 1+1. A good defensive 3B that provides power from the left side just makes all the sense in the world given our roster composition, and we can afford some swing-and-miss down the lineup given that we really don't have that much of it, compared to most teams.

**** your asterisk.

Blue Jays Release Breyvic Valera

Pretty decent deal the Dodgers got for Taylor - 4 years and 60 mill, even less than projected, with an team option for a 5th year to bring it up 73 mill over 5 years. 15 mill for the first four 4 years, and then 13 mill for the last year if option picked up. Much rather have that, than sign Bryant to 5-6 year deal at 120+ mill or whatever.

Re: 2021-22 Offseason Thread
Are trades still allowed to happen as well during the lockout, or do they get kyboshed as well alongside signings?
