One of the worst base running mistakes in baseball history. If he gets a decent lead + slides head first or Runs through the base we win.

Why is he even sliding man??? It's a force at home. He would be faster if he just ran through. Just a complete braindead decision.

How the hell do you not have a Secondary Lead with the World Series on the line? I saw the Close Up on my Twitter Timeline. You are not wrong to call it one of the worst mistakes in baseball history.

No decent lead, and poor slide cost us the World Series. Why did not the Third Base coach maybe alert him also? Another guy I have not been totally impressed with all year.

IKF doesn't seem too bright - but I'm guessing he was gun shy didn't want to take a lead at all, if so varsho magically hit the ball hard to infielder and gets doubled off.

He almost got picked off like that last game.

At least go head first if you are since its quicker to touch with your hand. I thought once Rojas hed probably scored but then I saw the replay and was Just dumbfounded. Like he was basically standing on 3rd base when the ball was hit

That logic makes total sense. But the crazy thing is that Muncy was farther away from the bag than he was. At least keep the same distance as Muncy.

Your lead should be matching the defender, Muncy was playing way off. And regardless of lead he shouldn't be sliding feet first into home anyways with a force out. You probably should run through the base, but at worst you should go head first.

If only Varsho was hitting line drives instead of popups or K,s

In terms of fundamentals only (disregarding hitting) IKF was our worst playoff performer. Multiple fumbles on D, poor base running, struggling with bunts multiple times. So disappointing.

iKF is the only player I have shat on after this game and I plan to keep it that way. Lots of positives from this team and even managemt over the course of the seaoson that I will focus on — and may start a thread about. But IKF, ****.

Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

Listening to Bassett post game I think he would really like to come back on a reasonable contract. I don’t think it’s one that would have to be the top dollar — just reasonable.

it just seems that he really likes it here. I know some here I think pass it is a bit of an odder guy, but he has played a key role some of the recruiting process in the past for free agents, even Sasaki .

I think he wants to be here and we need people in that 45 spot we can’t count on berrios moving forward so I can see a fit for a reasonable contract on both sides.

Of course, we also need a number one or number two starter type to complement Gozman and a savage. If you want to maintain a position next year, but Bassett is fine at the end of the rotation.

I really hope everyone is ok. This is really painful i can't believe its all over but I'm so grateful for this team. I never thought I would love a team more than the 2015 team we had. What a **** season man.

How many times were the Dodgers and Astros in the world series the last 8 years? I promise you we will be one of those teams that will be back here next year. KC were heartbroken in game 7 in 2014 at home and came back the next year and just straight up dominated every series. I'm calling it right now that will be us.

It sucks and the hindsight- ness. We got further than anyone in their wildest dreams thought of. Enjoy all the memories this season gave you.
Would it have been great to finish with the World Series Ofcourse, but life doesn’t work that way. O bet you even next year as there will be expectations. The enjoyment of this year will live in memory. Let’s just Hope we finish it in the coming years.
It’s a great bunch of guys to root for.

No one should be surprised Hoffman blew. All season after about 2 or three good performances he was blowing games. We were pressing our luck thinking he could have 4 good appearances in a row

IKF has provided absolutely no value at all. Is there any stat tracking his speed on the bases, is he even faster than Davis Schenider? I don't even think he is a better 2B either. At least Straw is legitimately fast and a great defender in the outfield to compensate for his bat. We would have been the 2025 champs if IKF was off the WS roster.

Just thinking about it continuously pisses me off. If that was Loperfido on 3rd we probably win.

Return to Toronto Blue Jays
