Semien's totally fine as a defensive MI with some pop, hitting in the 7th spot. Just definitely not a leadoff guy.

I know it’s way way way early but do you think the Jays will sign one of the top infielders next off season? With Semien off the books.

I still think we overpaid to get someone like Semien when that money could've been used to get a starter. But it is what is. At least it's just a one year deal.

No reason to think he won’t be fine right now. It’s mid-April and he’s pretty much established himself as a good player in this league. He’s just probably not 2019 good.

Absolutely, 7th is a good spot for him. I'd sooner see Gurriel, Bichette, or even Grichuk bat leadoff until Springer is ready.

When Springer starts, I think Montoyo is going to move Semien to the second spot. I hope I'm wrong, but it's Montoyo so...

“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

It doesn’t seem like spending money on one of those FA starters would have been a good idea, tho.

True. But maybe holding some of that $18 million in reserve for the trade deadline and using less money to get another FA infielder might've been a better move. It's still too early to see how this move pans out. I do think Semien will be a solid guy tho. But likely more suited to the lower part of the order.

It’s possible and even probable that they did save money for the deadline.

His hot streak is over. Might be a good time for Springer to start playing baseball if this team is gonna stay afloat here.

putrid offense and deciding on zeuch in the 7th and there is the game.

someone asked why zeuch is in the majors. well two things.

injuries and a consequence of going with roark and stripling as starters who both suck. he is apparently one of our system options after turning romano, merryweather, borucki and now thorton into relievers.

can't wait for woods richardson and based on upside alone, manoah. unless they are also turned into relievers once they get here.

Not sure Charlie could have managed us to any fewer wins if he was trying...
