I think that reflects the belief level in this team amongst Torontonians. It doesn't seem especially high, certainly nothing compared to the mid 2010s teams. The general opinions I've run into is that this team isn't expected to go very far in the playoffs.

Hmm, so that’s why we don’t pitch Stripling in the 7th.

Jansen is quietly having a really solid year. In only 186 PA entering this game, he's put up 1.8 bWAR and 1.5 fWAR, with an OPS+ of 121. And that with a BABIP of .216.
I'm glad I'm not the one choosing between which one of Jansen, Kirk, and Moreno gets moved. I think it's still probably Jansen, but he's done the organisation a huge favour by upping his trade value this year. A number of teams will view Jansen as a solid primary catcher, and that's worth a solid return.

Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

My only concern with Jansen is that baserunners seem to take advantage of him. There are times where I’d much rather have Moreno out there, because he has one of the quickest pop times in the league, and seems to usually put the throw on the money.

Both plays Espinal has made over the past inning (running into an out at 2nd in a 5-0 game with a runner on 3rd and forgetting how many outs there were in the top half) should be enough to get him benched.
One flew east, one flew west, one flew over the cuckoo’s nest.

Garcia ends up striking out 3 decent hitters to escape the jam... was getting that Rays winneriness feeling for a minute there...

Did the pitching order change? I thought it was Gausman/Manoah/Berrios/Strip/(random) but Gaus is going already tomorrow.

That's the first intentional walk of Jansen since 2019, and only the second of his career.

In this series of attrition,,, the starters have really done a good job of providing innings. Berrios, Manoah, Strip, have all risen to the occasion.
Is anybody here a marine biologist?
