Yikes.

If you don't like him you don't like ice cream...

Or strikeouts.

Please no more "athletes" in the first round.

- Romero with 7 walks in 5 innings; somehow only gives up 2 runs.
- Brad Glenn continues to beast in AAA with 2 more hits (both singles) tonight, average up to .455.
- Smith Jr with a single and 2 walks
- Pompey 2-5 (both singles)
- Marcus Knecht putting a few good games together. After his good year in Lansing he's struggled to put it mildly in Dunedin.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

When you go for tools as often as the Blue Jays do, you're gonna end up with a lot of busts. Doesn't mean the strategy is a bad one. Plus, sometimes first-rounders just end up sucking. Deck McGuire wasn't an "athlete" pick. Neither was Kevin Ahrens. Neither was Travis Snider (yikes). It happens.

The thing that stands out the most for Norris is the consistency.

Even as he was starting to turn the corner last year, his fortunes could change on a start by start basis.

His line's thus far have been practically interchangeable. Perhaps one or two more/less strikeouts here, one or two more/less hits allowed there, but for the most part, you can comfortably write up his line before the game starts and you'll be in the neighbourhood.

That's not to say he won't have his issues at AA, but when you put up 10 consecutive starts like this at the A ball level, you're probably just spinning your wheels staying there much longer. Unless we're aiming to maximize his current value by letting him dominate A ball hitters, then he probably is due a bump, even if it's not so smooth from the get go. Better to have him get half a year under his belt and start back there next year if necessary.

Yeah, if you're looking to put him in your rotation in a year or two, then there's nothing left to be gained at A+. If you're in talks for pitching and willing to move him, he may just stay still 'til the end of July so as not to mess with his current value.

Ouch! I do not like that kind of talk.

I wish we could reverse time to the beginning of the season and just say Stro and Sanchez and that's IT. Oh alright, DJ (the K) Davis too. But that's our FINAL offer.

Neil Wagner made his 2nd appearance in the last 4 days which is a good sign. Pitched and inning and put up 0's to go with 2 K's.

Dunedin continues to own their league. Pompey 0-2 with three walks. Knecht continues his red-hot streak going 4-4 with two doubles. Graveman seems to be getting acclimated to A+ ball with a solid 6 inning start.

Sanchez with a less than stellar outing again today

6 innings/6 ER/9 Hits/3 BB/2 K

Over his last 2 outings
6 IP/12 ER/9 H/7 BB/2 K/2.66 WHIP

On the positive side he pitched in to the 7th inning today.

Pompey continues to frolic through high-A like it was a park in Mississauga. Hasn't had an XBH in several games, but he's now drawing walks at a tasty rate, and with a gradually falling strikeout rate. Not much missing.

I've been amazed at his consistency, he hasn't really had a slump all season.

Matt Dean is back today for Lansing at DH

Matt Boyd is back in Dunedin and dominant, he might have been better off just trying to work through it in AA>
