Can't tell if you're referring to them having Straw bunt with 2 balls or Bo having the worst swing in baseball history on a pitch above his neck

Nightmare series. Terrible swing by Bo. And why were we even bunting when Martin was struggling to throw strikes.

they weren't gonna keep playing crazy above their heads till october.

flush this series and come out strong against kc at home.

def also lines up with the deadline too in terms of needing to strengthen the team for a stretch run

I don’t know but I feel there have been some questionable coaching decisions that haven’t sit well with me last week or so.

It’s more than hitters that can’t hit etc. but that just compounds the problem.

An optimist would say they're just 0-4 without their most valuable player and that they'll return to normal next week when he's back

I'm not an optimist

Bunting when we have a real chance to get it to Vlad with a 2-0 count was so goddamn stupid lmao I mean Bo should've had a walk anyways.

Without Kirk, this lineup is definitely not the same. His loss is showing, when you have Wagner hitting 6th and looking atrocious. Team needs to hopefully salvage tomorrow. Regroup with a day off, and come home and beat up on Kansas City and Colorado in their next two series.

They've been bunting in such spots all season and it has often paid off for them, but there's a reason no other team bunts at the rate we do. It analytically is often the wrong decision.

The strategy with Bo is always to throw him balls way off the plate in a big spot, he's gonna swing at anything anyway

Another one, Schneider gives away in a silver platter. No one out with 2 guys on base and he chooses to bunt. Pitcher was struggling. It's 0-2, just let him pitch. Unnecessary out and we saw the result. I was cringing at that decision..bo hitting into a double play and strikes out to end the game. Useless consecutive hit streak..

The former but it works for that horrendous Bo swing too.

Anyways a series to forget whether they win or lose tomorrow. Need to get Kirk and Springer back.

also think it's pretty clear from this entire series so far that the Os simply have the Jays staff as a whole well-scouted and their job now is to identify what they're seeing and adjust on what they're doing themselves.

hitting def not great today, but they're also missing george/kirk who've been two of their better hitters lately.

Been saying all along the juggernaut Orioles are the best team in the division. We badly need to make some moves so we can have a chance to win at least 1 out of 3 in our next series against them in September or else they can potentially pass us

I suppose I'd be more upset if we were losing with our top guys playing.

Varsho hasn't featured during this crazy hot streak but it doesn't change the fact that he's a future centerpiece of this team (for better or worse).

Varsho could have easily played one or both games today but they decided not to have one of the best players in their franchise playing on a major league field today.

It says something when the Jays have runners on 1st and 2nd and 0 out, I actually cringe because I know what's coming next. Whether it's the 9th inning, 3rd inning, doesn't matter. Lay down the bunt. Pitcher can't find the strike zone and you're up in the count 2-0? Who cares, lay down the bunt!

Turns out giving away outs and small ball isn't the answer after all and that power hitting is determinative in modern baseball, who could have expected it

Never give up that out.
