True. I don't know how the Cardinals fans put up with his madness on a day-to-day basis. I can't even deal with small samples of him in the few Cards games I watch.

You'd have to think that, if they're going to flip him, the other deal is ready to be completed...you wouldn't do this to have a four-day window in which to craft a deal out of whole cloth, which is why I was initially doubtful that they were doing it for that reason.

Yeah, the separate deal has to be already done. If it wasn't, you'd be risking being stuck with a player you don't want (Jackson) right through the deadline..

Ok looks like from a preliminary standpoint this deal is certain available now. Jackson is obviously going along with a reliever who might be Rzep (Mills has been called up to be a reliever). We'll likely be throwing another prospect in here, Cooper it seems might have gone to Chicago since he didn't play 1st base last night.

Any ideas on which prospect the Cards might want?

Cooper isn't really a prospect. Hard to see why anybody would want him.

Where are all the Jays reporters on this? Barry Davis should not have the biggest scoop of the day from among them.

How could it be a Cooper like prospect? That's definitely not enough.

I remember when we traded for Gose and people here thought it was for a Cooper like prospect. It ended up being Wallace who at the time was arguably our best prospect.

Could it be Frasor + Gose going out for Rasmus? If Rasmus is our CF of the future, Gose being in the deal makes some sense. I would do this deal.

To get someone like Rasmus (a young superstar) we'd have to give up one of our top prospects.
