Stroman killed it last year in the playoffs. I know his numbers this year aren't great but something about him says he's a big game pitcher. I'd prefer Stro in there. He lives for these kinda things. Also it'd be nice if we got some help from the umpires lol. I bet the MLB is drooling over a possible Texas vs Toronto matchup...aka Odor vs Bautista

stroman didnt actually "kill it" in the playoffs... hes was alright... he killed it going into the playoffs though.

the orioles hit stroman hard and i dont trust him right now. if this was last year i wouldve been all for it but not with the way hes pitched this season...

Ya, I'm not sure why everyone thinks Stroman killed it in the playoffs last year? I guess it was the one decent game he threw with the season on the line. His playoff ERA was 5.68 over 3 starts. Liriano on the other hand has a solid playoff career record.

Stroman has arguably been our best starter since the all-star break.

That was actually his ALCS ERA. His ALDS ERA was 3.46. Overall 4.19.

I'd throw Stroman out there and only let him run through their lineup twice.

then bring in liriano after they've been getting ground balls all night and have them swing and miss on his breaking stuff.

I'll be honest here, I'm not too comfortable with Stroman, especially with the kind of run support the Jays have given to their SPs this month.

That would be a poor argument though. Happ and Sanchez have both clearly been better and probably Liriano too.

Plus Stroman played only half a season. He was still technically fresh for the playoffs.

$300 for two tickets section 526. Should I pull the trigger?

:o that's expensive!

Rogers is gonna rake in the money on just this one game let alobe if we advance.

Hopefully they use some of that on resigning one of EE or Bautista.

He has the lowest FIP/xFIP on the team since the AS break.

Good thing I bought tickets while the game was going on yesterday. Prices jumped once we won.

No excuse for the offense not to show up - i don't care who's starting for them.

No, that's pretty terrible. A friend of mine bought tickets last night for $130 each in the 100s. I'd save my money for the ALDS personally.

I'm fine with either Liriano or Stroman, but if I were choosing it would be Liriano. The bullpen needs serious help and with Sanchez presumably unavailable even in relief, that means Stroman. I don't like Liriano out of the pen at all. Hopefully Liriano can keep you in it for six, and Biagini/Cecil/Stroman/Osuna can somehow seal a win.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

It would be nice if the offense got hot starting about now. Lord knows we're due for a hot hitting streak.

Comparing their performance against Baltimore this year I would start Liriano. Put Stroman in the pen and have him ready to be a long guy if Liriano has any early struggles. The pen will all have a day of rest so Biagini and Cecil should be good to go.

Plenty of arms ready for the ALDS if we win as Estrada, Happ, and Sanchez will all have full rest.

It makes no sense, either. Estrada gets no respect for some reason.

That said, in this situation, I'm good with either Stroman or Liriano pitching. This game is going to come down to whether or not the bats actually show up. If they don't, it won't matter who's pitching.

Maybe. But I'm still going to predict that if we hold the Orioles to zero runs, we will win.
