Happy Monday!

Turns out it is hard to make up ground in the standings you've fallen far behind good teams actually trying to win.

Someone said what all the other teams do is not out of our hands? Or was I lied to

Good teams regularly overcome 3-0 deficits.

Especially against the Mets.

These were the numbers before the wins on Monday. Jays have to get on a roll to hit 90 wins.

I mean, it's not entirely out of our hands. We have 4 games against Texas and 6 against Tampa.

It's unlilely that 3 teams from the same division are all going to be able to close great. (Even if they were in same decisions just pure statistical randomness that one team plays moderate over a 30 game stretch(.26 of the total games of the teams are against each
other (or 13 individual games). Somebody has to lose those, and best case its one of the 3 that dominates those games.

I still peg 90 as a probable, but not certain either, win target to get in. And I think this team could achieve 90 with our schedule.
And if we get to 90 and we fall short by a game, then there are many games to point to and the team, coach and mgmt can blame themselves

That's true hopefully we're in position to pass texas when that series starts. Skydome should be loud

I'd be shocked if we won more than 2-3 games in that stretch.

tampa is virtually uncatchable so they're basically like any other team not from that AL west group

those two winnable games in seattle (among dozens of winnable games all season) will end up costing us, surely

Okay? I'm not saying what's likely, I'm saying what's possible. As long as we're within 6 games of Tampa on the closing stretch, we still control our own destiny.

Bichette to the IL. Somebody named Mason McCoy up in his place. Yeah, I'm calling it a season.
