Extra bat we can use i guess, pinch hit Barger/Lukes against a lefty reliever then pinch run/swap out for Straw is gonna be the most likely scenario. Loperfido was never touching the field unless the game was a blow out anyways.

Based on that video yesterday and the roster construction today, I think he's starting at DH. I'd also expect him to continue to bat cleanup where he left off if he does.

Yariel has been dreadful for a while. At least since August, maybe even before that. He shouldn't have been on the roster to begin with, and certainly not against a Dodgers team that would destroy him in any sort of scenario where he'd have to pitch against them. Good move to keep him out. It's not like Schneider is going deep into his pen this post season. He has his circle of trust, and won't deviate from that, so probably more useful to have an extra bat.

Best guess at a lineup:

Springer RF
Davis LF
Vlad 1B
Bo DH
Varsho CF
Kirk C
Clement 3B
Gimenez SS
IKF 2B

Bench: Barger, Lukes, Straw, France, Heineman
One flew east, one flew west, one flew over the cuckoo’s nest.

While they now both have dwindling roles, I think we need to acknowledge and give plenty of kudos to YARIEL and LITTLE for how instrumental they were while we were turning around our season in the second half of May and June.

They were absolutely great out of the pen during that period-- at a time when pitchers that were going to be heavily relied upon to start the year were either hurt (Yimi and Sandlin) or totally inept (Green). They may have been overworked or overexposed too which impacts things now, but they were huge in turning around our season.

I couldn't agree more.

Gaston throwing out the first pitch today, and Carter doing so tomorrow.

Man, that's going to be hype.

I would've reversed that order. Carter should've thrown game 1. The guy who ended our previous world series heralding in a new one.

Stating the obvious but winning game 1 feels so massive. Can’t afford to start the series like last series.

My guess on the lineup:

RF Springer
LF Schneider
1B Vladdy
DH Bo
CA Kirk
3B Clement
CF Varsho
2B IKF
SS Gimenez

Maybe Straw starts over Varsho if Schneider wants to go super RH, but I don't think he does that. Barger is definitely going to sit. Another option is Davis at 2B and Straw in LF with Gimenez sitting, but I don't think they sit Gimenez given his defense.

Want to thank Berrios for eating up innings in the regular season
He didnt contribute for a positive war season but he was not negative either
writing was on the wall once Jays brought in more effective starting pitchers
At least he should get a ring if Jays win WS

Varshos hit lefties decently since August 1st tbh and has 2 hits on Fried I think hes in on Snell and plays every inning this series.

I would consider having Bo bat second,

Springer
Bo
Vlad
Kirk
Varsho
Schneider
Ernie
IKF
Gimenez

Bo was unbelievable with men on base this year at the 4 spot, leave him there. Maybe Ernie #2 vs Snell?

Why is Gimenez sitting in this scenario? IKF is playing SS?
