Not sure why Espinal was hitting there with Belt on the bench, but nothing new for this manager.

Belt has been just as trash if not worse. Belt is a guaranteed strikeout against this guy. No need to complain about every managerial decision.

Belt is a far, far better hitter than Santiago Espinal, especially against a right-handed reliever who throws 100 with that kind of slider. It's a stupid decision and yes, it deserves to be called out for what it is.

Nah. You literally call out every managerial decision as a mistake.

Yimi just can’t walk the lead off guy in the 9th.
And Espy just can’t be swinging at balls leading off the 10th when he’s one of our worst hitters and when what we need is runners/multiple runs.

If if you're looking at defensive change, why take Whit out of the game? Why not move him to 2nd bade, at the very least you keep his bat in the lineup if needed.

Just a killer to not have your best BP guys this game. Too many untrustworthy guys and it showed.

Cannot win them all. Instead of the 9 million they spent on a reclamation project like Belt, I said at the time I wished that money could have spent on another decent high leverage arm out of the pen besides Chad Green. Hopefully, Chad Green is ready to go by Summer Time. Unfortunate that Espinal booted that ground ball, since it would have been a different story. Good homestand overall. The starting pitching has been solid (except for the First Inning today). No reason why Kirk and Merrifield should not be hitting and in the lineup regularly.

Why didn't Schneider walk Crawford in the 9th inning? Crawford is a contact hitter. You had a runner on 2nd with a base open. Our manager is an idiot.

I guess you could have moved him to 2nd, but I have no problem with taking Whit out for defense in that spot (KK and Varsho are easily better than him in the outfield).

Suarez is a much better hitter than Crawford, so that wouldn't be a good idea. Garcia just needs to not hang a slider to him with 2 strikes.

Garcia has swing and miss stuff. Suarez would have been the better match up. Not to mention he bats right.
