In Buffalo today, Vlad's got a walk, while Biggio is 1 for 1 with a 2B. Resumption of suspended games can get a bit weird.

**** your asterisk.

Weird indeed because individual game stats are being documented as if the player batting today was on the roster when the game was suspended. So Teoscar Hernandez - who wasn't on the roster when the game was suspended - hit a homer today, and the MILB box has him batting 1,000.

Conine has 7 XBHs (3 doubles, 2 triples and 3 HRs) in 6 games. Not much rust there.
Winckowski with another dominant start. Have to imagine he'll crack the back end of our top 30 lists midseason.

If the top draftees all sign, where do you put them in the top 30 team prospects?

After last years draft Groshans (8), Kloffenstein (12) and Conine (16) and all three are on the list this year with Stevenson (26) joining them. Currently as it stands i saw Manoah gets in the top 10 and Williams in the top 25, thats pretty much it. But as Vladdy, Jansen, Biggio, and Davis graduate that might open up spots for Brown and Robertson though there will be prospects added via trade so they may not make it. In a run around approach i only see 2 players being added to the top 30 after graduates and trades in Manoah and Williams. Depending on who they add in trade Manoah could be closer to 5 than 10 and Williams could be in the top 20.

Griffin Conine homered again in the in-progress Lansing game LOL. Hagen Danner also homered and has hit 3 in the last 2 games.

Really like his swing, nice home run against a lefty yesterday even though it was a hanger.

Danner also struck out three more times, heh. He has more HRs than walks, and as many HRs as he has singles. Power's real...now just needs to do, like, everything else.

Re: 2018 Minor Leagues/Prospect Discussion Thread
Gaby Moreno is pretty damned powerful for a kid listed at 5'10", 160...hit his 4th HR in 15 games since joining Lansing. Not much for walks, or non-HR XBHs for that matter, but he doesn't strike out a tonne either.
Hagen Danner hit a single. This is unusual.
Alford's not having a good year overall, but he's been better in May and June. Still, the low power/high K profile isn't a great one.

Murphy is today's scheduled starter at New Hampshire, so unless he is pulled, it's unlikely that he's the near-term replacement for Ed-Loss Jackson.
Perez has been a little bit more under control recently.

Re: 2018 Minor Leagues/Prospect Discussion Thread
Random notes about past 48 hours
Bo Bichette went 1-2 with three walks yesterday, and seems to be progressing quickly for a return to Buffalo. With a good start in BUF, I wonder if he will be "next man up", especially since Eric Sogart might make a nice addition for a better team looking for a super cheap, left hand hitting, decent fielding, backup infielder. The return would be small, perhaps a few dollars.
Logan Warmoth was added back into the MLB Pipeline Jays top 30 prospects, and might stay there once Callis and the gang factor in a couple of top June draft picks and remove Biggio. He's raised his average to .294 and his OPS to .811. Could warrant a promotion if he can sustain this for a few more weeks.
Kirk and Moreno continue to hit for power and average. Moreno hit #5 yesterday.
One of my 2019 narrative types, relief pitcher Jackson Rees, was promoted to DUN and made his debut yesterday. He had insane numbers at Lansing, almost two Ks per inning. His killer slider wasn't as deathlike yesterday, but he still made it through three innings without giving up a run (2H, 2BB, 4K). Helped himself with a double play and a pickoff. Along with those Ks, ground ball outs are a big part of his package. Will be interesting to see what he can sustain at this level. If he does well, no reason not to promote him to NH before this season is over - he's 25 on July 25 and was undrafted.
Anthony Alford had a pair of hits including a double yesterday, and is hitting .444 for June (yes, I know, small sample). He hit .276 in June, and .118 in April. So his progression suggests he might be a candidate for promotion, particularly considering his age and status on the 40-man roster. Something to watch in the leadup to the trade deadline. Considering Teoscar Hernandez is our centre fielder right now, well, Alford is the genuine article if he can sustain at the plate.
The answer to the question of 'Who is next pitcher up?" keeps fluctuating. No starter at AA or AAA has put consecutive really good starts together, but at least Sean Reid Foley is coming off a good one - Friday, 7 IP, 0R, 2H, 2BB, 6K. I wouldn't bet the house on his next one being that good, but if he has found the magic potion, he could be up for at least a start or two before long.
