Other than Springer who is having one of the most unusual seasons in baseball history, Vlad is the best hitter in this lineup. Not a chance I’d take a half dozen guys over him in any spot.

And Vlad being a very good hitter currently has next to nothing to do with that contract being the worst contract in baseball history. That was the case when it was signed and it is the case now. Will probably be the case for the next half decade at least too. Unfortunately he’s got 10 more years after that.
