Series isn’t over. But they dug themselves a big hole. Mariners are an excellent team. Very dangerous. This isn’t the 2015 Rangers.

You can tell he wanted the spotlight to be on him as well. The way he'd constantly step out from behind home plate and constantly throw the ball to the pitcher, then take his sweet ass time strolling around.
Embarrassing act.

I think I read the Jays have had 1 hit combined after the 2nd inning in either game this series. This is not a Vladdy problem, it's a team problem. He's working the counts, hitting the ball hard (generally on the ground like he's prone to). But others are either striking out or flying out weakly in a couple of pitches.
At some point, you have to give Seattle credit. They're a good team, and the exact type of team you don't want to face in the playoffs. Jays are tasked with beating this starting rotation 4 out of the next 5 games (Kirby x2, Gilbert, Castillo, Miller & Co.). Add in the fact Seattle has homefield advantage, a rested elite bullpen and Jays are also throwing out Bieber, Scherzer and without Bo this series; it's a gargantuan task.

These guys popped too much champagne and partied too hard after that Yankee's series. It's embarrassing to compare them to the 2019 Raptors who refused to celebrate after a series win, until the finals. This Blue Jays team was never serious.

The Yankees series was the peak for the jays. The Seattle series seemed like a let down for the jays. They don't have the same intensity vs Seattle.

People do this song and dance every postseason in baseball lmao the Mariners were popping champagne 36 hrs before playing us and they beat a trash Tigers team lol they were off like 3 days after that night. The Jays could've went straight to the batting cages after beating the Yankees and this series would still be the exact same lol

The Jays partied to hard narrative is so overblown. Do you not think pro athletes go drinking or party during the regular season?
I will say that partying after clinching a WC berth with over the division in the balance is silly, though.

Spend money that way.Otherwise, draft smart so the fans can see you are headed in the right direction.
Shapiro, and Atkins had left the year before Cleveland went to the WS in 2016,they left in 2015.Is this now a Jay curse.
They made the playoffs, and made bonehead playoff decisions with Shoemaker,Berrios.Cant win making decisions based on what you think will happen to a pitcher who is dealing.Schneider said he also should not have taken Gausman out of the 8-1 lead Seattle game.
Booyah
Everyone is bitching about management decisions… the reason why they’ve looked like ass this series compares to Yankees is they can’t score runs… it’s th at simple…
Management has been a problem also in why we dont win when we should.Namely Schneider when it comes to in game decision making in the post/regular season with making guys who are coming in to replace pitchers who are dealing ask"why we taking him out"without expressing it.
Yes the hitters aint hitting right now.No Bo is a bitch right now,but yeah we still should be doing better hitting wise.Vladdys toe tap is messed up again. Its unreal how he can forget how his toe tap goes, when a few days ago with no Bo he was raking, and we were cruising. He should start hating Seattle.

Seattles pitching is really good. They have done a good job scouting us,and are executing it.They also handled Detroits batters. They look balanced, pitching, and hitting wise.Looks like a dangerous more balanced lineup than NY.

Also Varland is a home run machine. Too many of our leverage guys give up homers.

He also struggles throwing strikes consistently. Our bullpen just has too many flaws. Our closer is meh, and we give up too many homers and lack control. Our pitching has been our biggest weakness all season and when we’re not scoring runs we can’t shut teams down consistently.

I think the bullpen is my biggest disappointment. There was some criticism of Atkins at the deadline that he didn't go all in - i.e. get a really good high leverage reliever. Maybe one was available had he moved earlier and not waited until the 48 hours leading up to the deadline.
This Toronto bullpen can't seem to provide a clean inning - 1, 2, 3. Seattle relievers are delivering a lot of clean innings. If a one-inning reliever is putting guys on base, he is asking for trouble, extending his pitch count, etc. And if they are all extending pitch counts, it makes it harder on bullpen management. Maybe I'm just sad about things, but I want to change the channel when Brendan Little is brought into a game.

He is a P.O.S. just like Hernandez.Hope he does not go behind the plate again or its a guaranteed loss. That non call on Arozarena could have also **** with some of our hitters..just sayin,as if Seattle need any more help.Yes,we still are slumping but the umpiring has to be better than this garbage.

The Bullpen needs Strike Throwers on the mound, and not guys that struggle with their command and velocity on a consistent basis. Little is probably one of the wildest relief pitchers that is used in high leverage situations for a playoff team. I know Little may be still under control next year, but I would seriously just let him walk and decline his arbitration number. I would say goodbye to Little, Dominguez (free agent), Nance, Bruihl, and even a banged up Sandlin (decline his arbitration number also) and go in a totally different direction for 2026.
With my payroll flexibility, I would go out and acquire at least 3 more relievers (one high leverage Lefty) and another guy who can close in the 9th when called to do so. You are stuck with Hoffman and his big contract for two more years, but maybe you have him be a Setup man in 2026 since Hoffman excelled in that role last year. So, as of now you have Hoffman, Varland, Fisher, and Fluharty, and Garcia. The rest of the bullpen I will remake in free agency and by trade. This bullpen is not a Championship Level Bullpen. I hope this front office (who unfortunately will likely be back) are taking notes watching the Seattle Mariners and their solid bullpen, and construct a much better one for 2026.

I would take Dominguez and Little back if they are on a good price. We do need a high leverage, elite level BP arm to close though. With Garcia coming back, one more elite arm and the BP is there IMO.
The bigger concern is the SP and the hitting, with Bo likely gone. Bassitt is washed, Scherzer is washed, Berrios sucks but we are stuck with him, Gausman is another year older, Yesavage is good. We need 2 SPs and another bat.
IMO we move Vlad to 3rd and open up 1B for a quality bat. He has the arm to be a good 3rd base man. Maybe Pete Alonso at first?

Dominguez is making 8 million this year. At that price point, I would just go in a totally different direction. If you are going to pay a similar amount for Dominguez, might as well spend a couple of million more to get a better pitcher than Dominguez. Same with Little. I would say Goodbye to both guys. You are correct, that this team needs two more Starters along with upgrading this bullpen. Another solid bat is necessary also with Bo gone.

It's really a miracle the jays got this far with the ramshackle pen and iffy starting pitching.
