Supposedly, the Mets have the best offer on the table now for Soto. I do think Shatkins and Rogers should get half a bonus point if they drove up the price for Soto beyond the budget of the Yankees and Red Sox and he ends up in the NL.

Tyler O'Neil to Orioles on 3 year deal worth $49.5M, and opt out after 2025.

Hopefully Soto makes his decision soon and Jays haven't become complacent again because players have started coming off the board.

Well Soto sweepstakes are over, he signs with Mets, 15 year and up to 800 mill with escalators and an opt out in 5 years so he can get so more.

No deferred money...

I'm good with not signing him at that kind of contract, I'll take vladdy at 10 and 350+ mill plus over that.

Now I wonder how rogers sportnet blue jays writers will spin that we were close with all the big Dawgs, after we sign some up as our big free agent signing

I wonder how much more Soto made because of the *reporting* of Ohtani's deal?

If all the talk had been 460/10 for Ohtani (what the MLB values it as) would Soto have been able to talk his price up to nearly 800m?

They made a huge mistake not re-signing him earlier, price definitely went up, not near Soto range, but higher then the reported $300M-$350M range previously reported. Vladdy likely waits till free agency now to see if there's a bidding war... It's really been a comedy of errors by Atkins & Co.
