Schad - Who's your pick for top breakout prospect this season?

Not sure who Schad's choice are but I think these 3 prospects could have huge years.

- Asher Wojciechowski
- Christopher Hawkins
- Aaron Sanchez

One of the more under the radar prospects who I'll be watching is Anthony DeSclafani

Hawkins is probably the best/most intriguing prospect in our system that no one really talks about.

Power/Speed outfielder (dratted as a third baseman) with a good arm. Improved his plate discipline last year and growing power. As a lefty hitter he hit .426 against southpaws, and was a run producer (.378 with RISP). Got better each month, so he's someone to definitely watch.

For those that dont remember; Stilson was a 1st round talent last year who dropped to us in the 3rd round after he sustained a non-surgery required arm injury. He's got a good arm despite possibly being destined for the bullpen.

Agreed. I also really like Knecht to have a big season (and did even before he mashed one tonight)...he could be the biggest mover in terms of level of any of our hitting prospects. Many of the others will progress slowly through the levels owing to their ages, but if he can cut down the strikeouts a little, I think that he has a shot at an August audition in AAA.

I guess? I don't see him on the roster but the name on the back of his Jersey said Comer and they mentioned that he was making his professional pitching debut . Also mentioned that Sanchez started today, also mentioned Hernandez pitched, 17yr old Osuna and 18 year old Norris.

They were playing the Michigan State Spartens in an exhibition game.

Cool! There replaying the game at 10pm (mtn time) on the Big Ten Network.

I see, extended spring training lasts till Monday. Here is what someone said about some of our prospects:

"I'm watching the lugnuts game on TV, Osuna pitched one inning and struck out the side, at least one batter on 3 straight fastballs, I missed a minute or two of the other at bats. Anyway his fastball was great, the announcers were amazed at his fastball for a 17 year old, he was topping out at about 94 mph.

Norris pitched an inning as well, 2k's and a long fly out, he was around 89-91mph from what I saw. He has a big curve that's around 71 mph that he threw for strikes.

Sweeney looked really good as well in the at bat I saw, he finished the day with 2 walks and a single and absolutely crushed a fastball of a lefty just foul.

Comer is up now, the announcers are really going on about the amazing arms the Jays have."

For those with MiLB TV, Las Vegas's game (home opener) just started.

Edit, Hech just made a great defensive play on a Cooper mistake and tagged out a runner. And, Hech also just hit a stand up double.

Where did you see that?

Curious because milb.com has him going three innings.
I would guess that their pitch counts are messed up in the Dunedin game, since they have the entire team throwing five balls, all from Stilson

Regardless, I'm excited also to see how he holds up this year
