As per The Athletic:

The Houston Astros traded outfielder Kyle Tucker to the Chicago Cubs on Friday afternoon, completing a frenzied 72 hours for two clubs confronting a crossroads.

The Astros will receive a package that includes infielder Isaac Paredes, right-hander Hayden Wesneski and infield prospect Cam Smith, league sources told The Athletic. The deal is pending a medical review.

Yep our farm system is a joke, but at least he went to the NL instead of the yankees which was also rumoured.

I'll miss Tucker but I'm glad they got a decent return for what would have been a 1-year rental anyways...and he doesn't go to the Yanks, LOL.

Yea I feel $340 million would've been turned down even before the Soto deal. But after the Soto deal, I'm sure the asking price has gone up. If Vlad has a good season in 2025, he can easily clear $400-450 on the open market.

Free-agent outfielder Anthony Santander, who hit 44 homers last season with the Orioles and who did his share of damage against Yankees pitchers during his eight years with Baltimore, is a player of interest, and that interest appears to be mutual. Santander is said to be intrigued by the idea of being a Yankee.

Not a fan of getting Bellinger and his salary of 2yr/$52 or 1/30 if you buy him out at end of 2024. Glad it was the Yanks and not us... although I'm not sure we will do much with our $25M we may still spend.

His last 4 years have been - 2021 - Alfredo Griffin in CF, 2022 - Bit Below Average Starter, 2023 - Good Player (4.4 WAR) who had some luck based on analytics, 2024 - Average Starter (perhaps a bit above average). That is way too rich a contract for that.

Would much rather spend that money on Joc Pederson and a reliever for example.
