Vladdy multi Homer. Now is a good time for him to heat up.

Sigh...if only Schneider didnt leave Romano in last night and this is a sweep. Tampa super banged up, 3 errors last night, bunch of walks and wild pitches. And STILL we lost. That game could have been our most "feel good" win of the season after trailing by 5. But John Schneider said NOPE!

This game is what the offense was supposed to be.

Power and consistency from the top 3, the rest of the lineup chips in and shows great patience.

Sometimes you wonder how much better of a hitter Vlad would be this year, if he did not have a lousy guy like Chapman hitting 1 or 2 spots behind him all year. Another solid power bat behind Vlad, would go a long way for him to have a better season in 2024.

The game was tied with a runner on second.

Even if Schneider had done the obviously right move and brought in Mayza, Tampa could still have won that game in the ninth, or been 50/50 game heading into extras.

Far from a guaranteed win even if JS did the right thing.

Tremendous defensive play by Bichette. Glad to see that from him.

Texas up 7-2 against Seattle.
What a crazy up and down September for Texas. Suck against everybody, except in their two biggest series of the year where they go 7-0 and sweep Toronto and Seattle (likely)

Its so hard to square him up that's whT you need from a closer.

Outside of his first rough appearance, Hicks has been elite for nearly 2 months. Wish the Jays could find a way to keep him long-term.

Why is Hicks throwing sliders off the plate with 2 outs and a 4 run lead?

I still prefer Romano closing, but happier when both are doing well whatever their roles.

Romano had a lot of things going against him last night although not fully excusing him either.
Hicks comes in during a clean inning and more rested.

I keep saying hicks has legit closer stuff. His only flaw was his control, but since he's been a jay his control has been pretty good. To Me he's their future closer. I just don't trust romano. All outsthis inning weak ground balls. All his pitches around the zone. We need to keep him and make him our long term closer.

Looks like that jabroni scrub Alex Marsh gives the Royals 5 innings and 3 earned runs... overall given the context that is quite satisfactory.

KC bullpen has to find a way to give them 3 shutout innings (hopefully the offence spots them another run or two)

Return to Toronto Blue Jays
